Fourth Dinner in the 2025 Farm Dinner Series: Shields Valley Ranchers

Chef Em met Eric and Juliana during her very first season at the Bozeman Winter Market—an experience that not only introduced her to some of Montana’s most passionate food producers, but also sparked the idea for this very Farm Dinner Series. It was there, among the booths and fresh goods, that she began dreaming of a way to connect more deeply with her ingredients and the incredible people behind them.

Now, we’re thrilled to welcome Shields Valley Ranchers to the series for the first time!

Eric and Juliana are part of a collective of independent, multigenerational ranching families based in the heart of Montana’s Shields Valley. Together, they’re committed to raising high-quality beef with integrity, transparency, and care. Grounded in strong values of land stewardship, animal welfare, and community resilience, these ranchers are redefining what it means to produce food with purpose.

With deep roots and a forward-thinking vision, Shields Valley Ranchers offers a meaningful alternative for those who care about where their food comes from—and how it’s raised.

Each menu is thoughtfully designed to highlight ingredients from all of the farms in our series, celebrating the full bounty of the season.

As these dinners are prepared outdoors and entirely on-site, no additions or substitutions can be accommodated. Due to the nature of our setting, we are unable to meet specific dietary preferences—thank you for understanding.

Gratuity is not included, but if you’d like to thank our hardworking crew, cash tips are warmly welcomed and go directly to our staff.

Part of the magic? The menu is a surprise. We let the land and the harvest lead the way, so the full menu is revealed the night of the event.

And finally, our events are BYOB—feel free to bring your favorite wine, beer, or spirit to enjoy alongside the meal.
